Manchester is recognized as one of the top economic cities of its size and is often recognized by national and industry publications. In September 2009 National Geographic Magazine named Manchester one of three U.S. recession-prove cities, highlighting Manchester's low unemploymente rate, rehabilated millyard, major employers, low tax structure, and recreational opportunities.
