PUBLIC PARTICIPATION AND ACTIVITIES AT 2011 WORLD'S
CHAMPIONSHIP CHILI COOKOFF
The World's Championship Chili Cookoff is a family-friendly event that encourages public participation whenever possible. Here are a few of the public events and activities that will be available during this year's WCCC. The Last Chance Cookoff
The Last Chance Cookoff provides any cook that was not able to quality for the Red Chili Cookoff on Sunday the opportunity to earn a last chance spot. Chili cooks will complete in the Last Chance Cookoff on Friday and the top 10 chili cooks will earn a spot to cook on Sunday for a chance to take home the $25,000 grand prize and the coveted title "World's Best Chili Cook". The Miss Chili Pepper Contest is a familiy-friendly contest that will happen on Saturday, October 1st from 12:45-1:30pm on the main stage inside Veterans Park. The Miss Chili Pepper contest is open to any female that attends the chili cookoff. Strut your stuff on the main stage and prove that you have the goods to be Miss Chili Pepper. The winner is chosen by audience applause. If you are interested in signing up please send an email to econdev@manchesternh.gov with the subject line "Miss Chili Pepper" and include your name, birth date and phone number. You can also sign up for the Miss Chili Pepper contest at the event. This contest is sponsored by Not So Plain Jane's.
Mr. Hot Sauce Contest sponsored by Bikram Yoga
The Mr Hot Sauce contest is a familiy-friendly contest that will happen on Sunday, October 2nd from 1:15-2:15pm on the main stage inside Veterans Park. The Mr Hot Sauce contest is open to any male that attends the chili cookoff. Come strut your stuff and show the audience why you should be this year's Mr Hot Sauce and take home the Fire Extingusher Trophy. The winner is chosen by audience applause. If you are interested in signing up please send an email to econdev@manchesternh.gov with the subject line "Mr Hot Sauce" and include your name, birth date and phone number. You can also sign up for the Mr Hot Sauce contest at the event. This contest is sponsored by Bikram Yoga of Manchester.
Jalepeno Eating Contest sponsored by Margaritas of Manchester
Do you have an iron stomach and an appetite? Join us on Friday, September 30th from 3:30-4:30pm for the Jalepeno Eating Contest sponsored by Margaritas. Sign up forms will be available at the event on Friday, near the main stage. Only a limited number of people will be able to participate.
People's Choice Division
As an attendee of the 2011 WCCC you will have the opportunity to vote for your favorite chili! Each event ticket comes with five sampling tickets which will allow you to try five small samplings of chili from any one of the award-winning chili cooks on site. Additional sampling tickets can be purchased on site. You will receive a voting form when you enter Veterans Park. Public Sampling hours are between 1-3pm each day.
Restaurant Division
Which restaurant serves the best chili in New Hampshire? The restaurant division at the 2011 World's Championship Chili Cookoff will answer this question. Red Arrow will be back to defend the title of Best Chili in New Hampshire which they won at last year's cookoff. Encourage your favorite restaurant to register (it's free)! Restuarants will be on site from 2-4pm on Saturday and Sunday handing out samples to the public. Click here for information and a registration form.
Segway of Manchester
Segway of Manchester is a Segway dealership right in the heart of Manchester, NH. Offering Segway PT tours, sales, service, corporate programs, demonstrations and gift ideas. Segway will be at the 2011 World's Championship Chili Cookoff offering:
- 2 for 99 tickets (all day)
- $10 for 10 minutes (all day)
- FREE Raffle: 3 free tours (we’ll collect all three days and provide the 3 winners a free tour vouchers)
- Segway of Manchester will be offering a Spiced Up Historical Millyard Tour via Segway Personal Transporter (PT) during event hours. This is a historical millyard tour with museum entry. The cost is $50 per person. Reservation recommended but not necessary. For every experience $3 goes to the City of Manchester!

Friday’s Event: 1pm, 2pm, 3pm and 4pm tours
Saturdays Event: 12pm, 1, 2, 3, 4pm tours
Sunday event: 12, 1, 2, 3, 4pm tours
Amoskeag Beverages Beer Garden
The Amoskeag Beverages Beer Garden will be open during the event hours. The Beer Garden is hosted by the Derryfield Restaurant. Sit back and relax and enjoy one of Amoskeag Beverages favorite beer selections; Coors Light, Miller Lite, Blue Moon, Corona or Modelo's.
Family Entertainment Stage
This year will feature a 2nd stage on Elm St that will showcase local performers and community groups. The stage will be located near the Monarchs-Fishercats Kids Zone. For a list of performers please click here.
Monarchs-Fishercats Kids Zone
The Manchester Monarchs and New Hampshire Fishercats are sponsoring the Kid's Zone which is located on Stanton Plaza. The Monarchs and Fishercats will be providing bouncy houses and games to children and families. There will be a $5 entrance fee for unlimited access to all the games and activities. Fungo and Max, the team's Mascots, will be making appearances throughout the event!
